Good data is the foundation of any analysis. We go to great
lengths not only to be an information resource but to decipher its
underlying trends. Our team tracks all types of market information, from
socio-economic profiles to retail center vacancies. These data
are key to understanding where a market has been and where it is
likely to be 1, 10, or 20 years into the future. Below, we have
provided a brief overview of some of the information we collect,
review, and analyze on an ongoing basis.

Fourth Quarter
2009 Report: |
|
|
For resort
operators with a presence in southern Nevada and abroad, weak operating results
in Las Vegas were tempered by generally strong, and in some cases, record
results internationally. In particular, Wynn Resorts Ltd. and Las Vegas Sands
Corp. expressed enthusiasm about results in Macau, reporting improved property

same quarter in the previous year. Looking forward, it is likely this trend will
not continue as comparisons will be to down quarters (fourth quarter 2008 and
beyond are all after the October 2008 economic crash). Many have held on to the
notion that the rate of decline is slowing, a sign the market may be approaching
the bottom, but supply-side fundamentals... |

Second Quarter
2009 Report: |
|
|
With second quarter
earnings reports in the books, the majority of operators posted double-digit
declines in Vegas-based revenue streams, while cost-cutting measures played a
significant role in shoring up operating margins. The general tone of most
gaming executives this quarter turned toward cautious optimism as they noted
"the worst is behind us," "we are not out of the woods yet," and "we are... |
